2005-2006 Scholarship Winner – J. Brown, Sul Ross State University

OP Loftbed $500 Scholarship Award Logo The winner of the 2005-2006 OP Loftbed $500 Scholarship Award is J. Brown. Our winner is a freshman majoring in general studies at Sul Ross State University in Texas. His answers to the questions were as follows:

In 100 words or less, write something that will make the judges laugh out loud. Aunt Mable has a dog, Tiger. I noticed Tiger seemed to have less hair than when I last saw him.  I asked Aunt Mable, “What’s going on with Tiger?”  Tiger had been scratching a lot lately and she had been diligently spraying him with the “flea” spray.  Tiger was scratching as we spoke and  I took Aunt Mable the “Febreeze” because it was the only spray bottle I found. I asked her where the flea spray was.  She said, “That’s it in your hands!”  I said, “Auntie, this is Febreeze, a fabric deodorizer!”  She thought the label said FLEA Breeze!

Invent a new word. In the box below, enter the word followed by its definition. Then use the new word in a sentence. Quoo:  A style of loftbed in which the shape resembles a picnic table; the two beds are parallel to one another with a raised desk of equal length attached between the two beds, allowing, for example, roommates to share ample homework space.  Quoos are also available with shelving/storage unit instead of desk.
"Upon arrival at college, my new roommate had placed his belongings on the right side of the quoo because he had trouble sleeping on the left side of the bed."

What is your favorite web site? www.collegesports.com

Why is the web site you listed for question #4 your favorite web site? I love sports.  I started playing baseball when I was six years old.  As I got older, I participated in basketball and football, as well as baseball.  At this point in my career or life, I look forward to playing college sports.  I try to keep up with all the sports news. College sports are exciting, action-filled, and being a high school senior now, I feel I can somewhat relate to the students/athletes and I hope to have that same status soon – college student/athlete.  Collegesports.com is extremely informative.
