I just wanted to let you all know that this is the best bed ever. I have had it for 5 or 6 years now and it has been fantastic. I spent months researching and looking at loft beds. I wanted something that I could utilize more space in my room (cause homes these days have such small rooms). I went to some furniture places around town and even went looking at IKEA. Those were some of the worst beds that I have ever seen! They were either made of cheap metal or were not supported right and could move with a slight push. Now why would I wanna buy something like that? Your bed is by far the best one out there! After it was all done and assembled it has never been touched. The bolts stay tight and to this day it still does not move! Now that is a bed I am proud to own! Thanks for the great design! I of course had to customize it a little and added some shelfs to support my speakers and store all my DVDs. Anyways, thanks again, and to this day I still tell people about your site.

I just wanted to add to the praise everyone gives your designs. My dad and I, with just amateur woodworking skills, built the bed in a couple of days and all the pieces actually fit together! Thanks for the great design and for helping me save some money and space with a do it myself loft. I would give your bed an A+, and definitely reccomend it to anyone.

My husband and I put the finishing touches on the second set
of bunkbeds 2 hours ago. They're just exactly what we wanted!
We even had fun doing the project together. We don't usually
work well together (learned that early on and it's still true
22 years later), but we got through this one and still were
laughing at the end. I'll recommend your site to anyone I hear
needing a bunkbed/loftbed!

| Sheesh! Your beds brought back such memories!
Way back in '76, I built a bedjust like yours in Whitehorse,
Yukon. I had snagged a crazy little dormer apartment in an
old log teacherage at the top of town, and by building a loftbed
I could lie in bed and still look at dear old Grey Mountain,
night or day, with the coyotes running across the snow before
me.
Heck! that was a good bed! It would still be there but for
the Powers That Be who found it necessary to tear the lovely
old building down. I coulda cried, and my husky, too (he used
to lie under it, as loftbeds make perfect accidental dog kennels
and wolf dens, like desks, only better).
You've done a good thing, but loftbeds work best where you
need to take advantage of the fact that hot air rises. That
ain't exactly Hawaii, where we seek cool for sleep. Come to
think of it, though, a loftbed leaves a lot of room on the
legs for protective rings to prevent those danged centipedes
from getting up to the human level and biting, as they love
to do. And Hawaiians have been building their houses up in
the air for that reason and to take advantage of the odd breeze
that might float under the floor.

| I have looked at your plans for an OP Loftbed. This bed is
the best, best contructed and studiest bed I have seen as a
loftbed. I am most sorry to say that my son's college does not
allow the stacking or a loft bed. I disagree with that rule
and plan to voice my objections. I wish that we had something
like this 30 plus years ago. I would have owned one to enhance
the availability of space in my tiny dorm room, and as sturdy
as it is, it would have survived to be used for my kid's first
bed, and possibly my first child's college experieince. |
Thanks for getting back to me so quickly! Actually, I went
and got a version of winzip and installed it so I could get
at the plans. I was then able to print them out and today
will begin work on the loft. I have to tell you that I am
very impressed at the detail both of the plans and your web
site! It will make the whole process much more simple,

| Thanks for correcting the problem. I actually purchased the
plans successfully a few minutes later which I did download
without a hitch. We (my husband and I) proceeded to build the
bed the same day and the next for my 10 year old son. It turned
out great and he is just thrilled. It is so sturdy.

| I bought your plans and built 2 of the beds
for my daughters. Your website is quite accurate. They are the
sturdiest loft beds I have ever seen. Your cost of the materiels
was also very accurate. I bought the wood at Home Depot and
the fasteners at Fastenal (great customer service).
You'll laugh at this. I had tightened all the wingnuts as
tight as I could by hand. The beds were pretty solid, but
not as sturdy as I had expected. The lightbulb over my head
finally came on. After I finished tightening them up with
a socket wrench, the lofts wouldn't budge. Gotta love those
"duh" moments.

| I think it both ironic and amusing that
the loftbed that is pictured in your advertisement is almost
exactly the same design as a bed I design and built for one
of my daughters while she attended Eastern Michigan University
between 1996 and 1999. I’m not sure if my bed had anything
to do with it, but she graduated Cum Laude, with her BBA.
Just thought you might enjoy some feedback.

| While researching plans for a bunk bed for
my college bound son, I discovered OP Loft Beds. Intrigued,
I bought a set of plans. Best $10 I ever spent.
Without a doubt, this is the sturdiest bunk bed I have ever
seen. With the bolts tight, there is no rocking motion, even
with 4 people in the bed.
I am thinking about building two more for our summer cottage,
If I can get the rest of the family to agree to replace the
WW 2 era bunks that are already in place.

I just wanted to tell you how satisfied I was with the quality and accuracy of your plans. I purchased the plans for the tall loft bed. The price for the materials wasn't much compared to the quality and integrety of your designs. I think that it would be study enough to put an African Elephant on top. Well at least it seems that strong.

My bed rocks. I live in NYC and just had my housewarming party. The bed got the most comments second to our view of the Hudson river. I had a guest in the bed whilst the X braces were off (had 'em in the shop to be notched) and man did it make noise. A week later, the braces were back on. My friend stopped by and the bed made not a peep. Rock solid. Excellent design both practically and aestheticaly. Typicaly I am not one to go crowing about things I've bought but your plans were the best $10 bucks I ever spent.
BTW, your tech support was helpful and quick to respond.
